High-speed Response, High-speed Rotation, and High-precision Control.
Greatly Enhanced Machine Performance and Productivity.

  • Reduced Positioning Stabilizing Time
    Oscillation control has been strengthened through expanded control algorithms, enabling the positioning stabilizing time to
    be reduced to one third (compared with the OMRON U Series) even for machines with low rigidity.

  • High-speed and High-precision Drive
    A high-speed rotation of 5,000 r/min has been attained.
    Positioning accuracy has also been improved by employing high-resolution serial encoders (16,384 pulses/revolution, 32,768 pulses/revolution). Torque control accuracy (repeatability) has been improved by ±2%.

  • Smooth Operation
    Motor speed ripple has been greatly reduced, for smooth operation even at low speeds.

  • A Full Lineup of Servomotors
    The W Series lineup offers a wide variety of Servomotors, including Servomotors with a brake, Servomotors with a gear, and Flat-style Servomotors. These are available with rated rotation speeds of 3,000 r/min, 1,500 r/min, and 1,000 r/min. Select the model to meet your application requirements.

Easily Implement Positioning with Compact Servo Drives using Built-in MECHATROLINK-II Communications.

 

W Series with Mechatrolink-II Communications

  • Data Communications with MECHATROLINK-II:
    Data communications are used to transfer all control information between the Servo Drive and Controller. This enables using the performance of the Servo Motor to the limit because there are no restrictions imposed by the transmission performance of control signals.

  • A communications module is built into the Servo Drive, thus saving space in the control panel by occupying less than 2/3 of the space required for a MECHATROLINK-II Interface Unit mounted to a W-series Servo Drive.

  • W-series Servomotors: W-series Servomotors can be used as is, including Encoder Cables and Power Cables, so the System can be upgraded with no
    need to change the equipment design. (See note.)

  • High-speed, high-precision motion control: No-deviation control and predictive control are provided for high-tracking capability.

1. MECHATROLINK-II is a registered trademark of the MECHATROLINK Members Association.
2. When a Servomotor with an absolute encoder is used, a separate battery cable is required for
the absolute encoder.

Windows-based monitoring software is available. The software can be used to easily perform tasks such as setting up the system, monitoring operation, and editing parameters.

The Servodriver automatically determines the Servomotor's capacity and model and sets the motor parameters accordingly.

Regenerative Resistance Terminals Standard

External regenerative resistance terminals are standard equipment, so regenerative resistance can be connected very easily.

Reduced Wiring

When a serial encoder is used, the number of encoder signal wires is 1/2 of earlier models.

Absolute encoder: Wires reduced from 15 to just 7.

Incremental encoder: Wires reduced from 9 to just 5. 

 

 

Separate Main and Control Power Supplies

The main and control power supplies have been separated completely. If an alarm occurs, the alarm code can be read and the appropriate countermeasures can be taken even with the main power supply turned OFF for safety.

Comprehensive Motor Line

A full line of variations is available, including motors with brakes, motors with gears, and flat-profile motors. Also, two types of motors are available: Ones with a rated speed of 3,000 r/min and the others with a rated speed of 1,000 r/min. The wide variety allows you to choose the best model for your application.

Faster Response and Rotation Speed

The W-series AC Servomotors and Servo Drivers provide faster response, with high-frequency responses of 400 Hz. Moreover, the 3,000-r/min Servomotors provide rotation speeds of up to 5,000 r/min for fast positioning.

 

 

Wider Selection

In addition to 3,000-r/min (30-W to 5-kW) Servomotors, the W-series product line offers 1,000-r/min (300-to-5,5-kW) models to choose from. And included among the 3,000-r/min models are Flat-style (100-W to 1.5-kW) Servomotors that are ideal for applications requiring installation in tight spaces.

 

 

IP67 (Waterproof) Servomotors

The 3,000-r/min (1- to 5-kW) Servomotors have an enclosure rating of IP67 (waterproof, except for through-shaft parts). And these models, as well as the 3,000-r/min (100 W to 1.5-kW) Flat-style Servomotors, are also available with IP67 enclosure ratings that include waterproofing for through-shaft parts. Thus the W-series Servomotors can be used even in places where they may be exposed to water. (The standard cables, however, cannot be used with IP67 models, and the appropriate cables must be provided by the user.)
