Benefits / Features

GIGA RAY

Unparalleled Giga power brings the world's highest stable detection

GIGA RAY ensures reliable detection even in severe environments (e.g. oily or dusty environment). This reduces maintenance work and prevents equipment stoppage due to malfunction. What’s more, even large workpieces and low-reflective workpieces such as black rubber with unstable detection previously can now be detected stably.

Incident Level

E3X-DA-S with power tuning and tough mode has 160 times the incident level compared to previous standard mode.

Power Tuning Function for Easy Setting of Optimum Incident Level

The E3X-DA-S Digital Fiber Sensor is equipped with a power tuning function that lets you set the optimum incident level with a single button.

All of the Amplifiers are set to the same digital incident level, so the same threshold level can be set and maintained for the Sensors.

The incident level can be set without switching the mode.

Troublesome power adjustments are not required. Just press the MODE Key once, and the power tuning function shifts the power level so that the incident level is set to the optimum value.*

*The optimum value can be set to between 100 and 3,900.

Difficult variations also displayed in real time.

By adjusting variations in digital displays for the same application, the same threshold value can be set for all Sensors, so that you can visually detect abnormalities on the displays.

Automatic Power Control (APC) for Long-term Stable Performance

Long-term stable light intensity reduces equipment maintenance.

Long-term stability

The E3X-DA-S Digital Fiber Sensor uses OMRON's unique APC circuit and LEDs to prevent deterioration over time, achieving the industry's most stable long-term detection performance. OMRON Sensors can be used with high stability, regardless of whether the APC circuit is ON or OFF.

Active Threshold Control (ATC) Function   World's First

Stable operating time for equipment is extended

In applications with a severe threshold, e.g. glass detection, even a small amount of dirt can bring the equipment to a halt. In these situations, it is possible to prevent equipment malfunction caused by dust or other dirt, by actuating the active threshold control function.

The monitoring range is set inside the Sensor according to the threshold value. The threshold value is compensated when there are any fluctuation within the range.

E3X-DA21-S

Standard Models

• GIGA RAY - create a wide variety of value.

• Power Tuning - set the optimum light level easily.

• Active Threshold Control (ATC) - reduces malfunctions due to dust, oil or other ambient influences.

• Automatic Power Control (APC) - stabilize emitter power with high accuracy.

Incident level fo 160 times (tough mode); Sensing distance of 4.7 m; Smallest workpieces detected - 0.4΅m

*1 M4 transmissive fiber unit: E32-T11L 2.5m
*2 Reflective fiber unit: E32-D24R

E3X-DA21R-S

Long-term Automatic Power Control (APC) Models

• Suitable for equipment where frequent maintenance is not possible.

• APC term of approximately 20 years.

• The margin for APC term can be checked via visible amplifier easily, making planned maintenance possible.

APC term 3 times longer than conventional models; Maintenance period visible.

E3X-DA21F-S

High-speed Response Models

• Suitable for detection of high-speed workpieces.

• Shows the history of incident level before and after the workpiece passed through the sensor in slow motion, via the visible amplifier.

• ON time is displayed in microseconds (μs) unit, making it possible to check the response time margin.

Two times faster: 46΅s; An instant incident level can be seen in slow motion.
