All our system
adopted patented color highlight system to inspect for solder quality.
It works by using a fluorescent light source to project red, green, and
blue lights on to the PCB at different angles. The camera captures these
colors as they reflect off the board’s surface and produces a
two-dimensional image that conveys three-dimensional information. The
red color reflects off near flat surfaces, green at medium angles and
blue at very steep angles. These images allow our system to detect
solder defects including insufficient, excess, missing solder, bridging,
solder balls, and non-wetting. It also identifies defects in component
placement, polarity errors, and missing components, bent leads,
shifting, and lead lifting.
