FAQ No. FAQ01565
Question
Can the SE Motor Protective Relay
be used in an inverter circuit?
Answer
No, it cannot. The SE is designed for sine wave (50/60 Hz) motor
protection. If the SE is used in an inverter circuit, errors will occur in
the overloaded element, sometimes causing unnecessary operation in
open-phase or reverse-phase elements. For this reason, 3-element
protective functions cannot be used in an inverter circuit.
Use the K2CM Motor Relays or
K2MR Multi Motor Relays for motor protection when controlling the motor
with an Inverter.
